Aichi Expo Commemorative Design

The Aichi Loop Railway is a 45.3 km line connecting Okazaki Station on the Tokaido Main Line with Kozoji Station on the Chuo Main Line, passing through Shin-Toyota Station—where it connects to the Meitetsu Toyota and Mikawa Lines. It is a third-sector railway that opened in January 1988, combining the former JNR Okata Line section (Okazaki to Shin-Toyota) with the newly constructed section between Shin-Toyota and Kozoji. The Aichi Loop Railway 2000 series—based on the JR 313-3000 series—was introduced between 2002 and 2009 and operates across the entire line. Starting March 13, 2025, a commemorative train featuring a reproduction of the livery used during the 2005 Aichi Expo (Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan)—held along the railway's route—was introduced to mark the event's 20th anniversary.

The lineup includes three versions: the standard livery (blue stripe and green), the green livery, and the <Aichi Expo Commemorative Design> livery. This marks the first time the green and <Aichi Expo Commemorative Design> versions are being produced as trainsets equipped with two pantographs. By combining the different sets, you can also recreate the coupled two-train formations seen in actual operation.

③ Uses newly created molds to accurately replicate the distinctive configuration featuring two PS27 single-arm pantographs.

⑤ The power unit utilizes the highly acclaimed GM-5 motor, ensuring stable running performance.
⑥ All coupling points feature body-mounted KATO close-couplers (hookless type). Includes a 2-stage electrical coupler for the front end.
*Note: To operate this model in a coupled formation with existing products, the front coupler must be replaced with the hookless type used on this new model.
⑦ Headlights and tail lights illuminate; includes a switch to turn them off.
