JR Series 209-500 Commuter Train (Keiyo Line / Refurbished) Set

The Series 209-500 is an electric train type that debuted in 1998.
Four trainsets were introduced to the Keiyo Line in 2008, transferred from the Keihin-Tohoku and Negishi Lines to replace the Series 201.
Following the introduction of the Series E233-5000, three of these sets were reassigned to the Musashino Line, leaving only one set as a reserve on the Keiyo Line.
The single remaining Keiyo Line Series 209-500 set subsequently underwent major equipment refurbishment; it now operates alongside the Series E233-5000, serving not only the Keiyo Line but also the Sotobo and Uchibo Lines.
